Quarterly Classic Vespa "Summer" Meet (in the South)

Many VCoM members own classic Vespa scooters ranging between 65 and 25 years old. About 54 of these beautiful machines are registered on our Club Permit Scheme. So if you are a proud owner of an older geared Vespa, this event has been organised especially for you.

This regular "Classic Meet" will provide an opportunity for like-minded enthusiasts of older Vespas to socialise over coffee. Here's an opportunity to get in touch with other classic owners living in a suburb close to you. It's a great excuse to admire each other's machines, discuss various models, relate restoration stories, swap maintenance tips, learn about what tools to carry and how to keep your classic ride nice and reliable. There is a lot of knowledge within the club to help you solve problems and several members own specialised tools that help you perform various tasks when working on an older scooter. Technical manuals, history books about Vespa and other such paraphernalia will be available to browse at these events.

The Classic Vespa Meets are a regular event held quarterly during each of Melbourne's four seasons and in the four directions of the compass so there's no excuse not to attend as we are coming to you!

Our "Summer" Classic Meet is on Sunday 18 January, 2-4pm at Main Street Cafe, 501-505 Main Street, Mordialloc. Thanks Stefan for checking out this venue.

If your scooter is not quite ready to make its appearance, or you are unsure if it will get you across town, then just come along by car. Since the design of the PX has hardly changed since it was first introduced over 35 years ago, owners of these geared scooters are very welcome to attend as is anybody else who is curious about old Vespas. Even if you own a modern twist and go, come along and talk to somebody about what its like to own a twist, clunk and stall. We hope to impress the locals with a grand display of gleaming old Vespas. See you there! David, Classic Rider Organiser, VCoM

Another successful day David with lots of gorgeous classics and so many new people.  The sun came out after a brief shower and I am pretty sure everyone enjoyed the day out.  Congratulations to the winners of the best classic bikes.

As a local, those coming out along Beach Road are better off to ride all the way to where Beach Rd merges into Nepean Hwy/ Main Street, (the big roundabout on the North side of the creek).

Turn Left to head back into the city along Main Street, (Nepean Hwy) and go all the way to the next roundabout at McDonald Street.  Turn right, then merge into the service lane for the café.

Hope this makes sense, it's a bit tricky with some of the restrictions in the area.

    Hope to make it!
