Quarterly Classic Vespa "Autumn" Meet (in the North)

8485192066?profile=originalMany VCoM members own classic Vespa scooters ranging between 65 and 25 years old. About 54 of these beautiful machines are registered on our Club Permit Scheme. So if you are the proud owner of an older geared Vespa, this event has been organised especially for you.

This regular "Classic Meet" provides an opportunity for like-minded enthusiasts of older Vespas to socialise over coffee and get in touch with other classic owners living in a suburb close to you. It's a great excuse to admire each other's machines, discuss various models, relate restoration stories, swap maintenance tips, learn about what tools to carry and how to keep your classic ride nice and reliable. There is a lot of knowledge within the club to help you solve problems and several members own specialised tools that help you perform various tasks when working on an older scooter. Technical manuals, history books about Vespa and other such paraphernalia will be available to browse at these events.

The Classic Vespa Meets are a regular event held quarterly during each of Melbourne's four seasons and in the four directions of the compass so there's no excuse not to attend as we are coming to you!

Our Autumn Classic Meet is on Sunday 26 April, 2-4pm at
Cafe Minimo, 822 Sydney Road, Coburg.

Thank you to club member Claudio who has a couple of classic Vespas for hosting this event at his cafe. Claudio serves great coffee and delicious afternoon snacks will be available. Cafe Minimo is also kindly sponsoring two prizes:

"The Vespa with the Most Classic Appeal" - a $40 breakfast voucher for two and to celebrate the increasing number of classic small frame Vespas in the club, "The Best Small Frame Vespa" - a $30 breakfast voucher for two.

The Vespa Club of Melbourne will also sponsor a prize consisting of a pack of goodies for "The Vespa with the Most Character" - old, dented, rusty, personalised, stickered, accessorised or just odd.

If your scooter is not quite ready to make its appearance, or you are unsure if it will get you across town, then just come along by car. Since the design of the PX has hardly changed since it was first introduced over 35 years ago, owners of these geared scooters are very welcome to attend as is anybody else who is curious about old Vespas. Even if you own a modern twist and go, come along and talk to somebody about what its like to own a twist, clunk and stall. We hope to impress the locals with a grand display of gleaming old Vespas. See you there! David.

Just a reminder to get your old Vespas out of the garage, brush off the cobwebs, kick them over and putt-putt along to this event.
