This is the epic ride you have all been waiting for. The 6 silos are waiting for us in the Yarriambiack Shire in the Wimmera plus so much more.
Accommodation will be varied between Motel, Hotel and AirBnb so you are in for a real treat!
We will be covering approximately 1,200kms, with some big days of riding, therefore the ride is restricted to experienced riders only. If in doubt please contact me before signing up. Your bike must be fully serviced including new tyres for this ride. If we have a member who has an equipped vehicle and would like to be our support vehicle, please contact me.
General Itinerary, details to follow:
Day 1 Saturday Nov 3 - approx. 330 kms
Melb crew - Depart Brooklyn BP, Geelong Road at 8am SHARP. You can refuel at the BP.
Geelong crew - Depart at 8am SHARP.
Please have a solid breakfast before arriving and bring snacks for the trip. Grab something fast at the Bakery in Beaufort. They have great pies!
Destination Murtoa Pub via Rupanyup and Boydy's Cafe with all the tea pots. The Water Tower Museum at Murtoa is also a must see when we arrive.
Day 2 Sunday Nov 4 - approx. 310kms
Continental Breakfast for all at 8am at the Pub.
Visit the historical Stick Shed at 9.00am
Depart 9.30am to see the Art Silos
Destination Warrack Motel
Day 3 Monday Nov 5 - approx. 330kms
Breakfast from 8.30am at Cafe Peppercorn
Depart 9.30am to Boort
Visit John Piccoli, the Spanner Man to see all his amazing sculptures.
Lunch in Boort then depart around 2pm
Destination Avoca Motel
Day 4 Tuesday Nov 6 - approx 200kms
Breakfast from 8am in the Wreck Room!
Depart 9.30am to Ballan via the stunning wind farms.
Ballan for lunch
Accommodation has all been booked.
Total cost will be $150 - 3 nights including continental breakfast at 2 places.
We will be riding up the Western Freeway the first day meeting the Geelong crew at Beaufort. A further ride up to Stawell then we will cut into the countryside. We will try to keep off major highways but there will be quite a bit of 100km speed limits which can't be avoided on the country roads. Roads can be rough, we need to look out for animals and of course the local farmers so these factors will determine our speeds.

Thank you Julie for organising a wonderful epic ride out west to your home turf. There were so many variables you had to joggle, the route itself, how to take in all the various sights, where to stay and where to eat in small country towns that don't have many options. I'm sure everybody appreciates what a wonderful job you've done and how you have given us all a very special experience. What a unique treat to be able to get our Vespas into the cathedral-like cavern of the Stick Shed. I guess that came about because you can speak the local lingo - Bahasa Wimmera. Ha ha. And thanks Greg for that beautiful and surprisingly green route home along all those pretty little back roads. A great long weekend away with great company and lots of fun too. Well done all, David

Hi Pam
I would suggest to pack some snacks for in between meal stops as we will be on the go quite a bit... I think I have got pretty much everything sorted though. Keep everything crossed for perfect weather. :) I will be emailing everyone one last time so keep an eye out for that..
