Beth and Rolf are opening up their shed in Bayswater to members to come along and share experiences and tips on the maintenance and restoration of classic scooters.

We currently have 5 Vespas between us. 4 of those have had significant amounts of work done to them to get them to where they are now. Two of these are the famous Rat scooter, and the Pink scooter that won the first prize for the "Scooter Build off" at the 2014 National Classic Rally.

We would also like to have a bit of a swap meet where you can bring along your excess parts and swap/sell them.

If your Vespa isn't running, put it on a trailer and lets all have a look at it and share some ideas. But please note that we are not a commercial workshop and not looking for other peoples scooters to be left with us for repairs.

There will also be a BBQ lunch and possibly a ride into the nearby hills if time permits.

Automatic scooters are welcome to attend, but the main theme will be classics.

Please RSVP if you are going to attend and the address will be forwarded to you closer to the date.

See you there!

Yes Rolf and Beth, thank you for a great day. It's always special when members invite you to their home. Splendid shed(s) and a passion for scooters on show. Also picked up some bits and pieces as well as a tummy full of lovely food.

Fantastic day today and a big thank you to Rolf and Beth for welcoming us into their house and their SHED....It was lovely to see some faces we haven't seen for a little while also.

The weather was perfect, with blue skies and sunshine for awhile and the lunch Beth prepared was sensational.  Thanks guys and as it was also a day to raise money for the Cambodian Ride I am pleased to say that everyone must have enjoyed the food because we raised a total of $200.... from 15 hungry people...:)  Well done and a huge thank you to all.

I should add that we are still open for more people to come along.  Just send me a message on 0408 592 630 and I'll send you the address.

There is a possibility that we may be putting a new Malossi 210 sport barrel onto Beth's VBB. It will involve setting up the port timing with spacers and measuring squish.

I have just sent out the address to everyone who has said they are, or might be coming. Please check your inboxes!

We will be providing lunch on the day and donations to the Cambodia ride will greatly appreciated. There will be some vegetarian options available, but if there are any other dietary requests, please let me know.

    See you all soon!

    Rolf and Beth

Sounds good Brad. It's not that far from the station, but if you like, I'm sure that someone can pick you up from there.

  • Hi Rolf I'll be attending your event... Great idea although I'll be catching the train to Bayswater as I don't have a licence at the moment therefore won't be bringing a scooter or a car.... I Just want to expand my scooter knowledge

Sounds good Phillip. No need to bring anything if you don't have excess parts. Who knows though. You may take something useful home. The swap meet part is not the main reason for the day. The main reason is to talk about things like how to avoid a hard seize.

    See you there :)
