We will explore mineral springs still operating in central Victoria.
This is a one or two night ride, with a few details to be finalised depending on numbers
At this stage the plan is to leave mid Friday (for those who can)
Friday - meeting at Ballan (Geelong and Melbourne people), then travelling together through Blackwood and Trentham and on to Kyenton. visit the old Turana Spa pump on the way.
Friday night - accommodation most likely to be one of the pubs.
Saturday morning breakfast in Kyenton waiting for those riders coming from Melbourne and Geelong on that day.
Check out and taste the Springs just outside Kyenton. Head west to Vaughan Springs Road and rural riding then via the Old Diggings Trail through Vaughan, Irishtown, Fryerstown - stopping at Springs on the way. this is a very pleasant part of the country - narrow winding roads through the old diggings. There’s a short linking road of gravel, but it’s good quality and around 1km long.
Maldon on Saturday night.
Sunday - the options are head to Bendigo for breakfast, or maybe join Bendigo riders for a local ride after breakfast in Maldon, then head back through Daylesford for the final Springs, a late lunch and heading home
Some details to be finalised.
Accommodation on Saturday - The Eaglehawk Motel WE NEED TO KNOW NUMBERS So please express interest ASAP
Friday night - the Kyneton Motel

Thanks Tufan for all the work you put in to organise the fantastic weekend, and thanks fellow Vespa people for making it such a lovely trip. I learnt so much about horse troughs, mineral springs, Opera, tree hugging and much much more!
Thank you Tufan for a wonderful weekend ride. Our cups runnethed over with delightful mix of scenic riding, bridges, cemeteries, history, dirt roads, stone cottages, railway stations, and rusty pumps blended together with mirth and the jolly company of fine friends. Perfect weather blessed our ride. The glorious colours of Autumn featured splashed across the parched Victorian goldfields country to create a sublime palette. We all returned home with a mineral spring in our step.
What a fabulous weekend Tufan thank you so much for organising it and it was great to see so many people join in the fun...loved the extra touch with the sampling mugs also. Weather was perfect, riding and the scenery simply stunning....another great VCoM adventure....hope everyone got home safely.
We've known you always wanted to be a train conductor Tufan.
I will have a whistle and a timetable..... be warned!
SUNDAY FOLK - if you feel like a picnic and a taste of what we enjoyed a day ride is optional. we should be arriving at Hepburn Springs around 1pm (give or take) A picnic lunch and an experience of three of four Springs close together - a taste of what the others would have enjoyed over the previous few days. Let me know if you plan to attend SUNDAY so we can identify a specific location
GEELONG RIDERS - can we meet at V&R's car park at 12 we can ride to Ballan, and have a coffee and look at a 1.30 departure from there. Please get back to me ASAP if that is a problem if not, will see you at 12 at V&R's bottom end of Pako at 12
MELBOURNE RIDERS - if you're leaving Brooklyn at 12, you should be in Ballan by 1pm. This means after a coffee, we can bring out Ballan departure forward by about half an hour, or so. That helps so we'll plan to leave Ballan at 1.30 rather than 2pm
Not needed now thanks. Ive got a room at the Shamrock Hotel. Looks quite good!
I know I should have booked earlier but is anyone in a position to share a room for Friday night? (I promise I won't snore.)Sat night is ok It's just Friday night required.
