This ride has evolved into a revision of one of our older rides. Some excellent roads and riding - it's time for some good stretches and to get those scooters purring. Calling you all out to ride!

Departing from the usual BP Servo, GL Road in Brooklyn at 9 am. Fill your tank here because we are taking the long way to Meredith. >Map and Visual<

We take the Sunshine factory tour out of Melbourne and meet up with the Geelong crew along the way. Then through Rowsley and up the big hill (I know you love it) where we will regroup and have a stretch.

We'll head up towards Ballan but switch back along a forgotten road to Meredith. Don't miss this (just found it today!) - just beautiful with some surprises around the town of Morisson.

Arrive in Meredith at approx 10.45 after 110 km. It's time for coffee, look around, and fuel top up courtesy of the Club.

8485185276?profile=originalThrough the hills to Steiglitz. The second home of Sandy and John Dynon from the original club. We'll have a quick look around what was once a thriving gold mining town. Bring your camera.

8485178485?profile=originalThen it's down to the Anakie Roadhouse for Lunch arriving about 1 pm. It doesn't look much from the outside but inside there is a bar and cafe. It has a certain eclectic charm (!)  It has recently changed hands again and it's friendly and well stocked too.

We'll get away by 2 pm and get back via Werribee to Melbourne at 3 pm. Err... do you really want to visit the fairy park? Please let us all know.

We'll finish the ride at Garazi Cafe in Yarraville and say our bye byes.

Ride suitable for all scooters and rider experience. A couple of 100 kph short stretches. Back roads - no freeway, just nice. Great first ride out with the Club if you are ready. Click the image below to view / download the route on Plotaroute.

Can we nominate Derek as the club's first official Poet Laureate? All future ride reports in rhyming prose - love it!

  • I was waltzed by Matylda to the start of the ride, the weather looked dodgy but on we did stride.

With rain falling, wind blowing, onward we went, then it dried up "I think heaven sent".

At Brooklyn BP, we all did meet, a shake of the hands new friends we did greet.

Off we did start, Greg leading the pack, followed by all and Julie at back.

On roads that were straight with winding ones too, up and down dale with bumps....just a few!

The wind was a challenge on the PX, but I managed to hang on without soiling my kecks!

Even a detour from the specified run, just added a twist and made it more fun!

Thanks for a great day. And thankyou to Gino for Cha-Cha..ing me home.

    Cheers, Deg.

Hi Matylda I'm not sure who replied to you there but I wouldn't take any notice of that Steve guy he seems to be a bit whacky! I will meet you at the junction of Inkerman & St.Kild Rd. at 8.15am just look out for a black & white PX200 with a clown on it! Cheers, Bozo...Er, Deg (Derek).
