What
Come join us for a lazy exploration of some our city’s lesser known parks and gardens in the inner eastern suburbs. There will be a lake and even a lookout. Our 3-hour ride starts with a short walk across the Fairfield pipe bridge and then back up the hill to where we parked our scooters. Yes I know we are a riding club not a walking club but this part of our day’s activities is on doctor’s orders.
We’ll slowly amble past some parks and gardens admiring the grass and greenery while stopping for a stroll at others, all the time thinking how lucky we are to live in beautiful Melbourne. David aims to find some devious suburban back roads to link up all these obscure treasures. Wish him luck because his brain is getting a bit old, (there are no replacement parts for this model) and he might get lost. But never mind, since we are all relaxed and chilled, we’ll have a grand half day out no matter what unfolds.
We’ll end our little wander on Vespas around 1.30pm at the outdoor tables under the big tree at Tusk Cafe, Chapel Street, Windsor for a late lunch, snack or farewell coffee.
Ride Departure Point and Time
Fairfield Boathouse, Fairfield Park Drive
Departure time is 10.30 am sharp but If you arrive well beforehand you will have time to enjoy the ambience of this special place over a coffee or cake before we head off. Park your scooter in the carpark or on the lawns above the boathouse and walk down to the Yarra River. Note: you can only turn off Heidelberg Road into Fairfield Park Drive from the east. If coming from the west, you will have to make a U-turn at the first set of lights. It is well signposted.
Thanks to all who have expressed interest in this ride so far without knowing what the heck is happening.

Hi David
Could be a big ride, with 8 attending, and 8 who haven't made up their minds yet. :) See you in the morning.
Cheers Julie
