Classic Vespa Meet

Those classic Vespas owners who are observant will have noticed that our Summer Classic Vespa Meet is a little late this year. However don't despair. We continue to celebrate these old girls and the heritage of the Vespa brand by combining our Classic Vespa Meet with the Italian Auto Icons Display at Lygon Street, Carlton on Sunday March 6.

How appropriate to display our lovely old scooters with a fine collection of Italian automotive engineering, old and new, as well as Ducati and Moto Guzzi motorcycles.

Please bring your beloved classic scooter to Vespa House corner Johnson and Palmer Streets, Collingwood from 8:30am. Enjoy coffee and snacks at Clem's cafe opposite Vespa House with the compliments of your club.

We will then gather in a magnificent convoy departing at 9:50am with the aim of filling the streets on our route with splendid towering plumes of 2-T smoke. Arrival at our destination will be around 10am.

Our Classic Vespa Meets:

The number of classic Vespas over 25 years old owned by members of our club grows month by month. Some members have more than one. At a couple of events and club rides, geared scooters have even out-numbered their modern twist and go cousins. This event provides an opportunity for like-minded enthusiasts of older Vespas to socialise over coffee. Get in touch with other classic owners living in a suburb close to you. It's a great excuse to admire each other's machines, discuss various models, relate restoration stories, swap maintenance tips, learn about what tools to carry and how to keep your classic ride nice and reliable. There is a lot of knowledge within the club to help you solve problems and several members own specialised tools that help you perform various tasks when working on an older scooter.
