Description
Let’s take advantage of the nice sunny day coming up this Saturday. This impromptu ride led by Pete Zimm is suitable for all members and all types of Vespa. This 70 km route takes us through Christmas Hill northeast of Melbourne. We’ll meander along at a leisurely pace on pretty sealed roads and return to our departure point after lunch at around 2:30 pm.
Picnic Lunch
A picnic lunch will be at the picturesque picnic grounds on a grassy area beside Sugarloaf Reservoir. So pack a hamper and drinks and bring a picnic rug if you are so inclined. Toilet facilities are available too.
Ride Departure Point and Time
Arrive at 10am for departure at 10.30 am sharp from our usual meeting spot in the east, Britannia Mall, 485 Whitehorse Road, Mitcham. Pull into the north side service road at the start of Mitcham shopping centre. Please arrive earlier if you need a coffee beforehand. Several cafes in the mall will cater for our needs.
IMPORTANT, there will be no fuel stops on this ride so please arrive with a full tank. Remember to pack that picnic lunch and don’t forget that this is a Saturday ride not our usual Sunday ride.
Comments
Hi Matylda. So nice to hear from you. Yes there is some great riding around Christmas Hills and Menzies Road and Buttermans Track are on the menu thanks to Pete. Best wishes and we miss you guys, David
Got the picnic bug after last Sunday and why not take advantage of the weather while we can. Hopefully we will still see some autumn color as well.
