MELBOURNE to GEELONG details

Meet at the Convent Bakery for coffee and quick bite.

Ride leaves at 8:15 am sharp.

Route 1. Straight down Geelong Road. At this hour the road is very quiet, and it's a quick safe ride. Regroup at the Liberty Servo in Brooklyn before entering the freeway. We'll stick together to support slower bikes. (Last time Julie led the way on her 150 doing 110 ks Vespa speedo). Arrive at the Caltex Servo in Geelong North at 9.30 am. Meet the Geelong crew there, and then it's their ride.

Route 2. Alternative Route off - freeway via Werribee.

Suggest we all go down to Geelong via Route 1, and return to Melbourne route 2.

If some want to take Route 2 down, then we can split into two groups at the Convent as we did last time.  However Route 2 would need to leave earlier, say 7. 45 am. Please feedback below what you want to do and whether you can lead either.

  • Are you still passing the Liberty in Brooklyn? I would like to link up there. Hope it's not too late for a reply. Happy to travel with either group.

We can do that after Queenscliff. We will go from Queenscliff to Pt Lonsdale and then to Barwon Heads anyway, so that small diversion to the pier is almost on the way, and probably a nice little walk after lunch

Hi Tufan, Julie and Greg, I hope to make this ride. I'm at the tail end of running in a new cylinder so I'll be taking it easy - may have to do some re-jetting as well. I might skip coffee at the Convent and head down the back roads solo and meet you all at the Caltex station at 9.30am. I'll let you know via sms if I can't make it. It should be a lovely day. Not sure if Tufan has planned a walk out onto the Point Lonsdale jetty, but its great place to see the swell of the rip and look across to point Nepean on the other side.

For a minute I thought Greg's bike was in for Her new fuel pump. There was a near identical one in to get its pump changed too.
