Dep Mitcham 9am we will ride up Canterbury Road - turn right at the roundabout into York Street C402 to join the Warburton Highway B380.  Regroup at Launching Place “Log Cabin Servo”.  This is the last petrol before Moe (101kms) so low range and classic bikes should top up here.

Through Yarra Junction village and turn right down the beautiful Tarrango Road (signed Britannia Ridge).  This brings us to the Powelltown Road C425 - turn left.  Beautiful roads and a regroup/photo shoot outside Powelly Pub.

Ride to Noojee (lovely roads and nice curves) for the obligatory photo shoot at the Trestle Bridge (warning there is a short bit of gravel road).  Lunch stop at The ToolShed Bar http://www.theoutpostretreat.com/The-Toolshed-Bar.html

Past Noojee turn right into Willowgrove Road C428.  This next stretch will take you through a beautiful untouched forest. Lovely windy roads & wonderful scenery.  This is a slower ride depending on weather.

At the end of this section, be prepared for the view over the Gippsland Valley, it appears as you come around a corner!   We will refuel in Moe before riding to Rawson.

We will be staying at the Rawson Caravan Park in The Dorm. http://rawsoncaravanpark.com.au

The Dorm has 12 bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen & lounge.  The cost is $60 per head including a big cooked breakfast at http://rawsonstockyard.com.au

Dinner is booked for 7pm Saturday night.

Breakfast at 8am - ride into Walhalla dep 9.30am.  Please be packed & ready to go prior breakfast.

Walhalla is a beautiful historical town.  The steam train leaves the station at 11am and takes about 2 hours round trip.  It is a very scenic ride if you haven’t done it before.

There is an interesting old cemetery & quaint shops to browse in or have a coffee.

1.30pm we will ride to Moe to refuel then head home.

Thanks Greg and Julie for putting on the Walhalla ride once again. We had a great time as usual. Apologies if my turn indicators were on most of the time. Strange, when I ride an auto they are switched off immediately after a turn, but on Ferguson they keep flashing. Maybe I think I’m riding Priscilla. Brave of Greg to do such a big ride. His shoulder must have been really hurting when buffeted about by that strong wind on the way home. Thanks to dirt riding buddies Noel, Liley and Steve. What fun.

Well as I predicted we had a mixture of weather - warm and sunny one day then muggy morning, heavy rain and then very strong winds today.  Tested all our skills.  Thanks to everyone who came along especially those for their first time.  It was a smaller group but we had lots of diverse conversations and lots of laughs.  There was the added adventure ride on some secret dirt tracks that put smiles on dials and Noel's and David's photos show why.  Some of us decided to relax with a draught beer instead...  I hope everyone got home safely after that very windy ride home and that everyone pulls up OK in the morning.  I might be off to to the Dr if my arm doesn't stop swelling overnight...OMG it is twice the size...not so sure it was a wasp bite now...!!!!  Greg survived his first big ride but only with a good massage with Bali deep heat when we got home...LOL...  Thanks David for leading most of the way also.  Cheers Julie

I am sorry, Julie. I am still in Canberra, and will be back on Saturday Night...Unfortunately I cannot join the ride this coming Saturday. However I can certainly join the next ride. Have a safe ride.

Last week, so I need to know if you are coming?

There is plenty of room, this is a great ride, the weather is going to be perfect quite warm to be precise...:)  which means it will be lovely up in the hills.

Hope to see more people on this ride as we were asked to put it up again.  Might be the last time so don't miss out.

One week to go before this ride.  Looks like it is going to be a small group but there is time to sign up.
