The Huge Mullock Heap Behind Broken Hill

The structure on the very top the mullock heap that forms a backdrop to Broken Hill, is a memorial to miners killed on the job. It's a beautiful and sensitively designed place of reflection. Sides of steel and wood at first evoke the feel of a mine shaft but you emerge out of this into the fresh air and sunlight to find a wonderful view of the city below as though souls of the dead will forever keep watch over this mining town.
