Stop 1 - Heavenly Queen Temple - Chinese
The remarkable transformation of a vacant Maribyrnong
River site into a Buddhist temple complex began with a 16-metre statue of the Heavenly Queen.
Stop 2. The Bradmill Cotton Mill - Not a temple but!
This was first opened in 1927 and closed in 2007 and is about to be demolished to make way for a huge shopping complex. See this amazing warehouse before it disappears for ever.

Stop 5. Quang Minh Temple - Vietnamese
We will have lunch here. This temple is the largest of them all with a magnificent view over the Maribyrnong and city of Melbourne. The history of Quang Minh Temple and Vietnamese Buddhism in Victoria can be traced back to 1980 Temple finally moved to its current site on Burke Street in 1989 and the main hall was built in 1994.
Food at the Temple is free - vegetarian - served between 12 noon and 1. There's plenty to see, including a walk down to the river.
Temple etiquette - remove shoes before entering the temples - contribute to donation boxes as appropriate.
After lunch we'll ride to Garazi in Yarraville for a final coffee.

Sounds like a great day. Checking out Angelo's shed sounds like the icing on the cake!
Our dear friend Angelo and his wife will put on some refreshments after the temple visit, and he will show us his "man shed" which will be an interesting and fun experience. Thank you Angelo.
I want to attend this ride! But I'm also not sure yet with the Chinese New Year the next day. (Chinese New Year eve is a big thing, it's when you have the family reunion dinner)
Oh really Betty, I didn't know when I posted it... how exciting :)
I hope to see lots of new members on this easy and enjoyable ride.
Please have a look at the map route to familarise it. On all rides we have a Lead rider, a Tail rider and corner marking which will be explained for all new riders.
