There are 13 VCoM members attending the Australian Classic Scooter Mille which begins on Wednesday. Quite a number are in the process of riding up. You can follow their progress travelling up, and watching take part in the Mille on the Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/564954453518449
It's a closed group so you'll have to join.

As in the past we are notifying Vespa Club members who own classic geared Vespas of a couple of forthcoming events organised by the Australian scooter fraternity which may be of interest.

1)  The Australian Classic Scooter Mille is an event for those who are up for a real “classic” challenge. This year its been nicknamed the “Sunshine Ghost Mille” 30-31 October 2024. A number of our members have enjoyed taking part in this rigorous event including our President in Horsham 2022 and Adam who rode his PX125 across the Nullarbor last year for the WA Mille. The Mille covers 1000 kms over 2 days. It is a navigation and reliability trial, not a race. You ride the given route relying on old fashion methods to navigate such as maps and notes. Modern digital navigation devices aren’t permitted. Its fun. For further information:

2) The Australian National Classic Scooter Rally is an annual event celebrating classic scooters. It follows directly on from the Mille. Now in its 11th year the event rotates around all Australian states and the ACT. This year it’s being held on QLD’s Sunshine Coast on 1-3 November 2024. Information about the rally can be found here:

Riding in tropical QLD is simply sensational - from the Glasshouse Mountains and surrounding hinterlands to the perfect beaches and coastline. Did I mention pineapples? Big ones!

Although not VCoM events, we have previously organised rides to these kinds of rallies. I will be riding to QLD to participate on my 4th trip on two wheels to this state. The journey there will be part of the fun. If any other club members are going and would like company for an off-highway ride up, just indicate your interest here and we can discuss some routes. It will be good practice for those contemplating riding to the Australian Vespa Days event to be held in the same area in March next year.
