Here's a ride - about 200 ks

Designed to get Melbourne riders home by mid afternoon - given it's winter! Allowing plenty of time to socialise with new members.

Meet Abbotsford Convent morning for coffee from 8 AM

Ride starts at 9 am sharp - get out of the city to beat the traffic.

Follow the known route out of the city via the factory tour we used for the Macedon ride - it's quick.

Then across to Brisbane Ranges - down to Anakie - Meet member Tufan there. Sandy and John from the original club will meet us here at 10.30 too - then take us on a tour of steiglitz / courtesy of the local historical association.

To Stieglitz historical town - coffee (if the tea house is open) and many good photo opportunities Anne.

Meredith for lunch - there are a couple of pubs and cafes there.

Home via Brisbane Rages again.

This is a good ride manageable by all riders. Sealed roads / no dirt.   Should be nice. Room to open up on long stretches, as well as some nice curves.

Barry in Wyndam Vale - we pass close to you. Can you join us? This ride is open to new interested people. You can join us for your first ride even if you have never met us, as long as you are a reasonably experienced rider and can handle stretches of 90 - 100 k roads. Please everyone, let us know if you are coming so that we can book a pub table in Meredtith in advance.

Please note that this is adapted from a longer more detailed ride designed by John.  There is a lot of good riding in this area and it is worth doing the longer version and even expanding it  in warmer weather - For example - there is a great ride over the top of the Brisbane ranges / omitted here because it would take us in a circle - and Geelong is only 30 ks away / beautiful waterfront there / - suggest putting up this ride in an expanded version again for the warm months.

Let's ride and get together. This club is going places!

Weather watch; please log into this event regularly / if the weather is horrible then it will be postponed - regular BOM forecasts will be posted here, and any final decision will be the previous Friday night.

Two potential buyers have booked a viewing of the Vespa tomorrow, so unfortunately will not be able to make it tomorrow as planned.  Mixed emotions as my baby may be leaving, and was really looking forward to the ride :(

Route updated - all sealed roads

  • Looks like the 2 week ride I did in East Timor last year on a Honda Megapro!

That's good riding David... I think you should organise the next ride and lead us all through it.

Didn't end up doing the test run but we will definitely be doing bitumen roads only. and we will go slow enough for you to keep up David....
