  • Location: Taco Truck to Half Moon Bay to Gelobar
  • Latest Activity: Jan 28, 2021

Back in the day, my parents and their friends were getting around on a Saturday night with entree at the first house, main at another and dessert somewhere else again.

These progressive dinners seem to have disappeared from our cultural landscape and I think this club has what it takes to get it back.

The February timing is in between 2 weekend rides giving the Bright crew a chance to talk of their adventures and learnings from the National Rally and inspire those heading to Walhalla. For those doing neither it is a chance to catch up and enjoy the merriment.

The plan is to meet up at the taco truck for a first course around 6.30. It's location changes but I will look to update the web site at lunchtime on the day.

2nd course is a main course on the beach at half moon bay to watch the sunset. I will post sunset times when I get better organised. There is a cafe there but depending on numbers it might be wise to collect something along the way. I will update with recommendations before the big day.

Dessert is in Brunswick at Gelobar, 74 Lygon Street East Brunswick, where we finish.

I was not planning to post a route but just the times we could be at each venue. People can then make their way to the various destinations at their leisure.

Just 3 days to go and I am getting excited about this event. With the weather forecast for 30 degrees and 13 acceptors already, it is shaping as a perfect night to get some great food and have some fun on the scooter.

Remember to look out for the taco truck location on Wednesday so you will know where 1st course will be served. I will post an update with this information around noon on that day.

Suburb of Black rock on beach road. Half moon bay is an actual bay, mentioned in The wine song by The Cat Empire. Nice place!

    See you there Tracy.

Yes the progressive dinner - sometimes they would play 'Housie' - because bingo was illegal, then move on to another meal and another actvity. We kids would just tag along and enjoy looking at everyone else's bedrooms and stuff, then you know, play World Championship Wrestling on someone's living room couch etc..
