Hi fellow vespa riders and pillions: Breakfast will be upstairs, which I checked out during the week - looks good!

Ride following breakfast and activities: Ride to The Friends of Collins Visitor Centre at 11 am, Leggett Way, Sorrento (Between Hughes Rd and Westmore St on Pt Nepean Rd. We will be greeted by Judy. She will give us a short history of the 1803 Collins Settlement site. This is then followed by a short stroll to a lookout nearby. (BYO suitable footwear if you dont want to wear your bike boots).

About the Stettlement Site: From the local brochure,"It was a popular place for the Boon Wurrung people for thousands of years. They ate shellfish collected from the rocky offshore shelves.  In October 1803 the first British settlement in Victoria was established here, led by Lt.David Collins; it included convicts, free settlers and civil officers".

Then on to the "The Millionaires Walk". Commence at Lentell Avenue Sorrento. Finish at Point King Road Sorrento. Distance: 1 KM each way. Degree of difficulty: very easy. 1 out of 5. (BYO suitable footwear if you dont want to wear your bike boots, and clothes if you want to change down)

"This stunning cliff top walk has historic significance as it was the first time the Union Jack was used to claim possession of Australia. The breathtaking water views across Port Phillip to the Bellarine Peninsula, Melbourne and Mount Dandenong are amazing. Also you will get an insight into how Melbourne's elite spend time at their summer mansions".

"Millionaires Walk makes up a small part of the Sorrento Portsea Artists’ Trail, with four of the fourteen sites that comprise the trail located along Millionaires Walk. Paintings by Sir Arthur Streeton, Arthur Boyd and Ray Hodgkinson are displayed along the walk".

Then a short ride out to St Paul's beach - Lookout for some great back beach views.

Finally our Lunch spot for those who are sticking around: Checking out possible locations.

Looking forward to seeing you all for breakfast. Cheers Allan
