Events

A ride starting in Melbourne to the Bellarine coastline along some beautiful roads and to visiting the towns: Geelong, Drysdale, Portarlington, Queenscliff, Point Lonsdale, Ocean Grove, Barwon Heads. You may have ridden some of these roads in a hurry Around The Bay, but this ride lets you actually explore a bit more. This ride has been co-organised with some 'Bellariners' so we'll also be connecting and activating as many of our members as possible in the area as we can - there are some of you we haven't met as yet, and many we haven't seen for a while. We have 9 members in Ocean Grove! All members in the 'Geelong area' are welcome, while we do recognise that for many of you this is your 'back yard'. Please join the ride where you can, and celebrate this amazing club. We'll cruise around the coast, stopping for photos along the way. Member Steve Perlen, will join us at Portarlington Pier and take the lead for a local tour and we'll end up at his recommended  Farm Dog Brewery for a pre-Easter lunch before heading home. Please register to let us know you're coming, especially for the booking at Farm Dog. Happy to meet up with any Morning Peninsula members prepared to take the plunge too.

Melbourne early start - and Itinerary

Meeting from 7.30 AM at a familar servo. The BP Truckstop on Geelong Road, Brooklyn (MAP) is that last servo before the road to Geelong. There's good coffee and the usual fare here. Please breakfast at home, here, or bring snacks as we won't be stopping for a formal breakfast during the ride. At this time of day the road will be very quiet, ao we will cruise down together at 90 kph, and in a group. It's exaclty half an hour between traffic lights.If you haven't done this before don't worry - you'll be safe and looked after. Departure is  8.30 AM sharp

Meet us and join in along the way. Times are approximate. We'll confirm everything closer to the date.

9.15 AM. The Edge cafe. Geelong foreshore. Picking up Geelong members - please be ready to go.

9.30 AM. Swinging Past Hungry Jacks in Newcombe. Picking up members in outer suburbs Geelong - please be ready to go.

10 AM. Portarlington photo stop. Probably at the pier.

10.45 AM - Queenscliff, and a retro coffee at the Ocean View Kiosk

11.30 AM Point Lonsdale, and then to Ocean Grove.

11.45 Ocean Grove meeting point is the Boat Ramp for a tour around Ocean Grove and Barwon Heads via 'The Bluff'

12.30 PM: Lunch at  Farm Dog Brewery @ McGlashans. Just a wonderful atmosphere and view. Here's the menu. Let's celebrate.

After a 'Grand Day Out', we'll all say farewell at 2 PM and head off home.
