cropped-106-0667_img.jpgRecce ride today. What a beautiful ride! Stopping at Flowerdale, Strath Creek, Murchisons Gap, Broadford, Kilmore. Found a nice back road with a short section of gravel - but recently graded - and some rural industrial rust.

This is a loop ride visiting Flowerdale via Kinglake (beautiful ride) Broadford for lunch, and a cup of tea in the old tea rooms at historic Kilmore. I have fast back road route back to Sth Morang for a final coffee. Come along! Get those cobwebs out of your pipes. Suitable for all riders and bikes, but at the moment it's a highway ride - and that means 100 kph stretches. I will be doing a recce ride this week to find some more interesting side roads... so watch this space for extra good things. Don't miss out.

8485188473?profile=originalMeet Sth Morang at Espresso Vivere, >MAP on Plenty Rd just south of the Commercial Hotel intersection. They make great coffee, so we'll gather there in the morning. Depart at 9.30 AM.

Please arrive here with a reasonably full tank of fuel.

View the route on plotaroute. Some side rides wil be added after my recce ride.

Approx 160 Ks with stops...

Hi Greg. Thanks for looking out for the sign. It was still there about 3 years ago but has probably been taken. The driveway to the property was across the railway line then through a grand avenue of Cyprus pines, since burnt. Apparently I almost drowned in the creek there at the age of two. I told my brother that he should ask if he can bring William on the ride since the Kilmore area is a special place re the history of our family. My mum and her sisters used to ride their horses all the way to Alexandra and back to see their grandparents. Have a great day's riding

    Hi David

Recce ride today and i went back and forth a number of times and could not see the Overdale sign.

The left of O'Grady's Rd after Kilmore East is railway track.

Sorry to miss out on this one but look out for the "Overdale" sign on the left of OGradys Road shortly after Kilmore East. Used to be my grandparents farm. It's also where the 2009 fires first ignited. That Tea Room in Kilmore should be a national living treasure.
