VACC is holding a media event on the corner of Gipps Street and Hoddle Street at 7:15am to help the launch the State Governments 6 month trial of the Sharing of the Hoddle Street Bus Lane!     Motorcycles and Scooters riders invited to launch bus lane sharing trial on Hoddle Street.

    Background
    On Monday 21 November, 2011, a six month trial will begin on Hoddle Street, Melbourne, allowing motorcycles and scooters to ride in the southbound bus lane between the Eastern Freeway and Victoria Parade. Minister for Roads and Public Transport, Terry Mulder said information from the trial ‘along with community feedback, will be used to make an evidence-based decision on whether to allow motorcycles to use bus lanes’.

    VACC
    VACC is the peak automotive industry body in Victoria. Among its 5,000 members are motorcycle and scooter retail, service and repair businesses. VACC’s Motorcycle Industry Division (MID) supports the trial.

    Photo and Interview Opportunity
    Motorcycle and scooter riders are invited to congregate at Top Shift Automatics, 122-126 Gipps Street, Abbotsford, at 7.15am, on Monday 21 November. At 7.30am, they will ride along the southbound bus lane of Hoddle Street. The ride is a show of support for the trial and will raise awareness of powered two wheeled vehicles as equal road users.

  • There is a great cafe on Johnson st called bluebird. Awesome coffee. I think I'm on call mornings next week so if I'm lucky and don't get a phone call monday morning (somewhat unlikely but it's nice to dream) I'll come along.
