Hi everyone, Less than a week to go.  At this point we have a good contingent of about 16 classic riders with a range of great scooters.

If you are thinking about it, you can still join, it's not to late.

A few questions we've had for the group.

    Is it a Teams event?
Yes and no.  You can ride in a team if you like or not.  Up to you.

    Friday night meet up briefing
As most people will be staying at The Park Caravan park, we'll be meeting at the Settlers Tavern - a short walk away at 7.00 for a meal and pre ride briefing.

    What time do we leave?
You can leave whenever you like!  However many people will leave around 8.00- 8.30 am. Sunrise it at 7.00am so we may want wait a bit to miss to kangaroos.   Riders can catch up at the briefing to coordinate themselves. If you sleep in it's ok, but an early start makes sure you aren't coming home late.

    What if I break down?
Please make sure your road side assistance is up to date, carry any tools, spare you need for running repairs and give your scooter a once over beforehand.  We won't have a recovery van, so please be conservative and well prepared.

Be aware of the weather and road conditions
We will be riding across mountains and there are some patches of dirt.   Please ride to the conditions and wear appropriate riding gear.  It may rain or get cold, so pack your wet weather gear just in case.   Nothing dampens the ride more than soggy undergarments!

Are there rules around the maps and technology?
The maps above are made with Plotaroute and you can print out versions with directions etc.  You can use devices in this ride too to navigate or an oldfashioned map.  Up to you, what ever you do make sure it is safe and get familiar with the route before you ride.  It's possible that phone covreage may be limited in some areas, so a back up map is always a good idea.

How can we stay in touch with other riders?
We have created a facebook messenger group for people to stay in touch and registered participants will be added to the DSOM group.   Hopefully we can respond to any questions as they come up more quickly there.

Just reach out if we've forgotten anything!

Looking forward to seeing everyone for a great weekend riding on Friday!
    Marc and Michael

Hi Dianne, were staying in the yurts. I'm sure we'll probably go for a meal at the pub or somewhere that night, so that could be a good opportunity to meet up.  I'd love to hear about your restoration

Hi Guys. Will there be a gathering of the bikes after the Saturday run so I can come and have a look even though my classic is still in a million pieces mid restoration. Maybe at the caravan park?

  • Hey Marc. Good on you. I'll put some work into your event tomorrow to bring it all together on one page - greg
