The Club has been invited to attend and be a major feature. Here's a great opportunity to show off the club bikes, and have a relaxed social day with other club members.
The initial group will leave together from the Abbotsford breakfast at 10.30 AM - arriving at 11 AM. It would be great to have 20 bikes on this ride up to create a grand entrance. We will try to sustain a 20 bike display throughout the day as bikes come and go. There are three events organised for his day - Breakfast, Pink Ribbon Ride, & Carlton Festa - please indicate which ones you will be attending so that all can be coordinated.
The event is being held by Italian Chamber of Commerce, Italian Consulate, CAPI, Comites, CoAsIt, and some other Italian organisations, as well as being funded and heavily supported by the City Of Melbourne. This the premier Italian event in Melbourne.
The event will take place in Argyle Square / Parkland (Lygon St will not be closed). There will be musical and performance events on stage throughout the day, and stalls and food throughout the park, as well as other displays.
Parking & Display. We would have pride of place to display our Vespas at the front main entrance to the event - on the concrete squares - facing Lygon Street. Entrance and exit is from Lygon Street. Our Vespas would be the welcoming entrance to the event, and form an 'avenue' for pedestrian entry.
We would have the outside squares on either side of the entrance.
Coming and going.
Parking
At this stage entry and exit will be via the footpath and then a diagonal cut across the lawn to the paved area to park. If you are coming later than the initial group (after 11 am) you will need to show security your VCM membership card. The organisers are looking into a direct ramping system up the two kerbs, but at this stage this is it!
.Incentive. The organisers will provide us with something in return - at this stage complimentary food and drink vouchers - and seems likely it will develop further - they will get back to us on a thank you pack.
A good mix of classic and modern bikes would be needed. It would be great to have a solid presence throughout the afternoon.
A great opportunity to promote the club. We will be giving out a club flyers throughout the day.

Dressed in 60's gear..bleeding ? Oh no Tony....Strongly suggest you apply pressure over the area..pack well with towels..multiple if much bleeding..do not remove each towel..just keep adding towels, Dial 000, call for an ambulance, you may need a slight operation in the region you are bleeding from...raise the legs if possible and drink fluids if a considerable loss of blood....till the ambulance arrives and an IV can be inserted to to re-hydrate you..usually a 1 lt pack of Hartmans...do not panic...stay calm..every thing is washable...blood just appears bad when there is a lot of it about !.....enjoy.
Camera packed..about to leave now... Kind regards: Paul Pancrazio Tooooot!

That's a shame Tony.....it will be a fun day...
Rats! I thought l might get away with it.. l suppose l will feature on Utube next as CCTV footage details an idiot running across the Geelong freeway and then, whilst practicing a form of tazidermi on a road kill fox with a Vespa pocket knife, proceeds to attach it to his rear luggage rack frame on a 300 cc white Vespa before he rides off in the direction of Melbourne, at dusk and wearing a black full body rain suit. No never happened...there are no white silver blue foxes in Australia that l know of...unless there is one in a zoo somewhere. !
Till Sunday : Paulo Pancrazio Toooooot!
I saw that fox dead on the road on the way down to Geelong recently. I knew you stopped for it Paul!
I am excited..and my name is not Ken...another splash of wax on the front mud flaps being prepared as l write...will have to wear sun glasses..oh the glare !
