Melbourne prides itself on  how  good  its coffee is, so it’s time to get out there and find out who’s who in the coffee world.

In search for the perfect coffee…

Who sources the best coffee beans?

Who roasts their beans just right?

Who’s the best barista out there?

Plan is to start off at 7 Seeds Specialty Coffees in Carlton for coffee and  breakfast. If you are keen, arrive 10 mins early and get yourself a place on the free public coffee cuppings. Not only do you get to try some of the best coffees in the world, learn a little more from one of the roaster and try something new.

The rest of the stops and planned visiting times can be found below. Please feel free to join and leave the main group at any of the locations.

This is an excellent ride for all types of bikes and riding experience.

Non-coffee drinkers are more than welcome to come along as well. There will be lots of tea, artisan pastries, breads, cakes, chocolates etc. to try and or bring home with you along the way as well.

Lets make it a big one

Thanks everyone for a great turnout and making it into such a great day out.

Thanks Julie and Greg for your kind comments. Now I have an even bigger appreciation for all the well organised rides you both organise, and the amount of effort that goes in to it all to make it run smoothly.

Big thanks to Alessandro as well for leading most of the ride and keeping us on schedule.

Thanks everyone as well who bought me a coffee or two and the amazing doughnut Ross.

What's the verdict on which place was the best? It was a hard call, I think each one of them had their own thing happening.

Seven Seeds - excellent 1 hour educational session of coffee. Casey was very knowledgeable, was only back for a few days from Ethiopia sourcing some fresh beans. We tasted some great coffee straight off the drying tables of Ethiopia.

Supreme - friendly staff, best Barista award from me. Cappuccino was amazing.

Industry Beans - one for the hipsters, great espresso, very flamboyant and interesting coffee, perhaps not your regular every day coffee.

Dimattina - excellent coffee. As Al Pacino would say "This is good coffee" good every day staple, just like in Italy. No fuss, no hipsters, just good coffee. This place has my vote!

Code black - same as industry beans, but I think this place has something a little more going on - they did a great piccolo, love to go back and try the food too.

    Cheers

    Pete

Let's just say that they appear to have a common perspective.

Some say the G-W-R are not that different to the B-W-R?

    OH! Then let me rephrase:

"I cannot miss this borghesia corsa"

Viet, the instigators of this ride look to me to be more 'il tricolore' (green, white and red) rather than 'le drapeau tricolore' (blue, white and red). Multicultural all the same. Will see you somewhere on the route. Philip

OMG - I have moved just around the corner from Dimattina's in Reservoir. $1.50 coffee - guess where I'm going tomorrow morning!
(unfortunately I can't join the coffee crawl as I am spectating the Roller Coaster fun run that day)
