It's Sunflower season and the Dunnstown Sunflower Farm is open - a beautiful landscape, and you can pick some to take home. We'll ride out of Melbourne the back way up to Bacchus Marsh, then along the fabulous Ironbark Road to Ballan and Mt Egerton. We'll enjoy the beautiful panoramic view from the top of Mt Buninyong - should be able to see the sunflower fields from there. We'll visit Buniyong town for a re-fuel, and coffee / snack / lunch stop. There's a choice of a bakery and few cafes along the the strip there.

We'll then find our way to the Dunnstown Flower farm. It'll be busy with hundreds of people enjoying the scene and picking flowers.Bring your camera, a pair of secateurs, and a large plastic bag if you intend picking sunflowers. The club will cover your entrance fee to the field and the farm charges you $4 per stalk on exit. The weather forecast is fine so it should be a colourful day.

This ride is suitable for all Vespa and rider experience. All back country roads. There's a couple of  unavoidable 100 kph stretches

For our usual quick city escape route. The Servo has a 'Foodary'- coffee and take away food. Departing at 9.30 AM sharp

The way home will be a mystery tour through a favourite landscape of mine, and then we'll thread our way back to Melbourne.

Hey everyone attending this fun VCM ride.  I think the weather will be kind to us and just a gentle reminder not to foget your secatures and a bag to pick your sunflowers.  Also we hope you enjoy one of the many benefits of being a member, by having the entry fee covered by the Club.

    See you on Sunday.
