What
Suzette and Ray are going to Bright on the Anzac Day long weekend. They would like to invite other like minded club members to join them for a casual, generally unplanned weekend away. For those able to take Friday off to make a long weekend out of the Thursday Anzac Day holiday, this impromptu ride promises to be an enjoyable getaway.
Destination
Bright will be in its finest Autumn colours and the weather during April is often perfect for riding. Although nothing is planned, once settled in Bright or Wangaratta the options for riding the region are endless - Mount Buffalo, Mt Hotham, Omeo, Beechworth, Yackandandah or just follow the region’s food and wine trail. Maybe you want to do some walking or just chill out at a campsite or at the Wandi Pub.
Ride Up
A led ride on attractive back roads has been organised leaving from the Beechworth Bakery, Healesville at 10 am Thursday morning. The 330-km route is via Yarck, Euroa, Swanpool and Tatong.
Accommodation
Make your own arrangements keeping in mind that Bright is extremely popular during this season. Ray and Suzette are staying at Camp Crusty in very basic hut style accommodation with shared facilities. There are also campsites available. The sooner you commit the easier it will be to find a place for your 3 night stay.
Update on Accommodation
After checking this afternoon (15 April) it will be very difficult to find accommodation in Bright. Some of us have now booked a place in Wangaratta at Millers Cottage Motel. If you want to join us then contact the owner on (03) 5721 5755.

Sorry, all, I can't make it, even for the night/day. As I mentioned, I was hoping too. Some of my lens from my cataract surgery broke and went to the back of the eye. So now I have a date with the eye and ear hospital to get it removed in the next day or so.
