Let's see how many are ready to ride again after Christmas. Gotta ride! This ride is open to potential new members as well.
The Anakie Roadhouse is an institution and club favourite. It doesn't look much from the outside but inside there is a bar and cafe. It has a certain charm (!)
They serve a good breakfast and it's a short one hour ride through nice back country roads to get there.
The idea is to leave from Melbourne at 8.30 am, ride through the countryside (on an empty stomach) and arrive in Anakie at 9.30 AM for a relaxed country breaklfast.
Geelong area looks like coming up in force too.
After that it's flexible - ride straight home, or do a diversion. There is a diversion to the Moriac market (see Tufan.s post below) which you might like to come along to.
The ride is suitable for all bikes and rider skill. We'll keep a brisk pace and stick to speed limits. Some short unavoidable 100 kmh stretches. Country back roads with variable bitumen surfaces - so you need to be on the alert.
Melbourne meeting at the United Servo in Brooklyn, Geelong Road.
Cnr Grieve Parade and Geelong Road.
This is the last servo before entering the freeway to Geelong. But we won't be going down the freeway. Instead, we'll take a right turn and then down the backroads. Look for the Hertz and United signs.
