The William Ricketts Sanctuary is like The Land that Time Forgot. Secreted away among ferny glades stand mysterious clay sculptures of people and animals. Created by William Ricketts, who was still producing the sculptures up until he died in 1993, these effigies reflect his profound interest in Aboriginal spirituality. Open daily from 10am - 4.30pm and free to enter, the sanctuary is a unique and peaceful space full of twists and turns and surprises around every corner.

Billy Connolly’s visited William Ricketts Sanctuary, a place he calls ‘the most impressive thing he’s seen in Australia

A wonderful day today was so good to see everybody this morning at the Convent Bakery plenty of chit chat and coffee probably to much coffee for me, embarrassingly I had to have camomile tea at the end of the day resalting in the waiter calling me love LOL. Then the day spilt out to the trip to William Ricketts Sanctuary, we arrived at Harry’s Couch & Photographic Café, Harry of coarse was reluctant to get of the couch, we were warmly greeted by Bruce (the owner of the café) he made us all feel at home, a very tasty lunch was consumed and then we had a stroll to the William Ricketts Sanctuary absolutely amassing really worth a look, I am hoping to revisit for sure and as for the café yea I would like to try out more of the menu (very tasty and imaginative steak sandwich) very friendly people they will do well. Thank you for all that were able to make it you were the icing on the cake.

Hi Mike I would say we will be leaving at 11am so maybe it will give others a chance to come along that have commitments early in the morning but may be able to make the 11am time, it only takes less than an hour to get their from the Convent. So make your plans around that Mike
