Celebrate a great year and great Club! I'd like every member to come along and be involved in this event - join together as the Vespa Club of Melbourne

The aim is for 100 members to participate – that’s ambitious but, given the size of the club, not impossible. Really, it means I want as many of you there in any way you can attend. The Club now has members throughout Melbourne and Geelong, and so it would be great to see everybody out there on the day.

And the planning is fluid so that members can embellish and add what they want to do too.

Here’s how it will work – a core group will end up riding right around the Bay with a pretty tight schedule.  Along the way we would meet and involve as many members as possible. New potential members are welcome to come along and meet up too.

Here is how you can participate.

  • Join the core group and ride the complete circuit.
  • Meet at one of the scheduled stopping points and just have breakfast or a coffee and meet the core group as it rides through. Be at the venue before the listed departure time, say hello to the ride when it passes through.
  • Join the core group for one or more legs of the journey. Ride for part of the way. The ride size will rubber–band over the day.
  • Organise a side event - For example, a ride from Sorrento home, Queenscliff to Geelong.

There will be a $10 Christmas ride levy on every participant, and this will be donated to our nominated charity The Build Foundation. The ride will actually start in Geelong at 7 am. Central Melbourne riders will leave from the Abbotsford Convent at 8 am, perhaps the two rides meeting in St Kilda departing again at 9 am  – let’s see what develops!

The main stops and cafes along the route are posted below with new stop at Chelsea open house at Stefans, and the cost of the ferry crossing is $35 or book online and get 10% discount.

Hi Ruth, you are welcome to our place from 8:30. You will see a white PX in front of the house. Otherwise we will pick you up in Frankston.
We can use the lawn in front of our unit, no. 6, and opposite of our place to park the Vespas.
    See you tomorrow, Stefan

    Cheers Julie

GEELONG RIDERS ... your attention please 7 AM START!!!

The following riders will be doing the whole event, I think - Nancy, Pat, Sheryl, Leo, Angela, Wayne, and Tufan. I'll be sending emails this morning. Please confirm that you will be there and leaving Te Edge at 7am sharp. If you are NOT, please let me know so that we're not waiting.

We will go straight to St Kilda.
