A short ride for our members with geared scooters, and it's one ride in the year just for them. Join us for a 2-stroke ride across the city. It's 'Xpress' because it includes a freeway blast (90 kph) - many have told us that's what you want to do. All geared Vespa models are welcome.
We apologise for not organizing our annual 'blue smoke' ride this year, but this one can feed the thirst for now. Enjoy the ride and the smoke. This ride is varied and through the city, some nice curves, and an express fast run down the freeway so you can open up. We'll follow some iconic stages of Vespa migration, starting in Port Melbourne, through the docks and around Lygon Street, stopping at Vespa House Collingwood for a photo shoot, then a blast up to the fabulous Veneto club in Bulleen. Lunch will be at our old friends at La Porchetta in Ivanhoe for excellent food and refreshments. See the ride route in development.
Ride Departs at Princes Pier, Port Melbourne, at 10 AM. VIEW MAP (Assemble there from 9.30 AM.) There aren't any cafe facilities here, just a fabulous view and photo op on what promises to be a sunny day. So make sure you are breakfasted, and coffeed up before you get here. Ride past the building and down to the end of the pier assembly point.
A few of us will be having breakfast across at Station Pier from 9 AM. At Mr Hobson, 9 Waterfront Place, Port melbourne.
We ride is along the river, stopping at Docklands for a coffee. Up through the city and Carlton, and down to Collingwood for a pic stop at Vespa House. We'll then do the boulevard before joining the freeway for a burst of high speed. We'll stick together there as one group. The Veneto Club is a huge Italian social hub to visit, and then we'll make our way to Ivanhoe for lunch and drinks at our old friends at La Porchetta at around 1 PM.
This ride is for our members. Please register on this event as 'Going' iif you are in. We need accurate numbers for a final table booking.
