Here's a great fundraising event supported by the Victorian Scooter Riders Association. It would be great to have a big turnout from the Vespa Club of Melbourne for fun, meetup with other scooterists and motorcyclists, and support Father Bob!

Bring a Toy or Donation, strapped and displayed on your bike.

Meet at our home the Convent Bakery for a quick breakfast.

Depart the Convent as a Club at 10.15 AM

Ride down Punt Rd, arriving as a Club at the assembly point Alexandra Ave.

The Toy Run will be through the City and to Port Melbourne.

If are going to miss breakfast but still intend coming to the Father Bob Toy Run, the meeting point for scooterists is at Olympic Ave (Swan Street) from 10.15 am

If you are coming along for the Toy Run, then we'll be leaving the convent at 10 am, and riding down Hoddle Punt.

We will turn right at Swan Street and meet other scooter riders outside AAMi stadium.

Then we will all ride together to the Assembly point about 5 mins away.

Come along! If only for the ride down to the assembly point!

TO ALL SCOOTER RIDERS AND CLUB MEMBERS

In previous years the  Melbourne TOY RUN  was huge, a parade of 10,000 plus bikes through the CBD, filling semi-trailers with gifts for the needy and their kids? We would like to see a Toy Run in the City like this once again, in the heart of the City for all to see and this time with lots of Scooters, because we are the fastest growing section of on-road vehicles in Australia.

We are therefore pleased to advise the Victorian Scooter Riders Association and the Independent Riders Group bring you:

The Melbourne Motorcycle and Scooter Toy Run 2013, to be held on Sunday the 8th December 2013.

This year the MELBOURNE MOTORCYCLE AND SCOOTER TOY RUN 2013 is raising funds for the Father Bob Foundation, it's during the morning and lunchtime so riders can attend and have plenty of time if they want to head on out to the Toy Run supporting the Salvation Army at the Calder Raceway; www.toyrun.org.au

In these difficult times all charities need as much help as we can provide and the Father Bob Foundation is no exception and urgently requires cash and donations more than ever, so on the day they will have volunteers at the Father Bob Foundation headquarters in Albert Park collecting donations and issuing receipts. Father Bob and his Team need tinned and packaged  food, preferably Australian. A can  of  SPC  baked beans or spaghetti might mean Christmas dinner for someone who may otherwise go hungry. The Foundation also needs clothing, blankets and new toys to make it a real Christmas for the kids.

The ride will be a heap of fun and it's good to know that the positive publicity it will receive will help motorcycle and scooter riders win a fair go, both out on the road with motorists and with the decision makers in Government.

All  are welcome at this charity fund raiser. Non-riders can  meet us at Father Bob's in Victoria Avenue, Albert  Park, where there are plenty of good places to enjoy breakfast or a good coffee and the beach is right at the end of the road. Bring the kids to see the motorcycles and scooters and don't forget the cameras.

Decorated motorcycles and scooters, autos, classics, maxis, bikes of all sorts, as well as fancy dress, club flags & banners are all welcome.

Motorcycles, scooters, sidecars and trikes assemble from 10.00am in Alexandra Avenue near the Swan Street Bridge, departing 11.30am for Albert Park.

The route  is  about 6 kms and will take around 25 minutes. It gets narrow and slow in some places, but that's good for the spectators and camera crews.

Please  pass  this  on,  put  it  on  club, company and personal websites, in  magazines, club and company newsletters. Put December the 8th in your diary for a Toy Run and let's all get together to help the needy this Christmas and not forget Father Bob's Motto; "Who cares, wins"!

    Kind Regards
