Our summer season, gelato gatherings continues with a get yourself to Piccolina Gelateria in the heart of the Melbourne CBD.  Please plan your ride carefully, as there could be limited parking and Lt Bourke is one way, enter from Elizabeth St. Overflow parking is good on the cnr of Lt Bourke and Queen.

With its multiple outlets across Melbourne, Piccolina's is fast becoming a Melbourne go to for its clean and refined deliciousness.  See you there!

Coming soon in January - a scoot to Seaford's Gelato UNOU - 3rd Generation gelato chefs from Sicily.  Not bad !!surprised

About the Gelato Gathering.
The idea came out of desire to ride every day and to enjoy the longer daylight and great riding weather over summer. The initial concept wavered between Wednesday and Thursday and this year we'll stick to Wednesday and if the weather forecast and radar show as horific and dangerous, we may cancel at short notice. Also there has been interest in pizza rides of the same nature. Please feel free to put up a ride to your local favourite, no need to consult, just do it !!

Gelato locations to be considered this season include: Gelato UNOU Seaford, Gelato Lab Black Rock, Luna Blu Elsterwick (tick)Piccolina Lt Bourke St cnr Hardware Lane Melbourne, Messina Richmond (tick) and gems I've been told about Cono Gelateria near Resevoir Lake, Williamstown, Yarraville and Miinot Coburg and Fluffy Torpedo, what the!!  Let me know your fave and we'll get there soon.

    12355173686?profile=RESIZE_930xI'm  coming to Hardware Street.
    yes Hardware Street

I worked there at Auski 79-88 and Alpine Ski Centre 89-92

It became Hardware LANE sometime after.

The street was closed to traffic at lunch times in the mid 80s and more eateries moved in

Campari s was always there and frequently visited.
The drycleaners and Locksmiths long gone

Many artworks purchased on Lay-by from

    Mahoney s Gallery .
The tiny "Hole in the wall " Chinese take away had  amazing yummy food .
peanut's restaurant was just around the corner downstairs in Lonsdale Street . Raw in shell peanuts in huge bowls on each table . Discarded shells welcome to the floor . Crunchy underfoot 😁

Auski s second floor overlooked Bourke Street .
McEwans the local hardware and original store   and Kosminskis for window shopping antique jewellery.
    Underneath was the Ansett shop.
I made quite a few flight booking s here ,going to Wynyard  Tasmania on a Fokker Friendship .
Darks gunshop was just down little Bourke St .
The best bookmaker repairer in a small shop up little Bourke .

So a  trip down memory lane .
    Looking forward to gelato there

    thanks Roy 🍦🛵😍
