Join us for a loop out of the city to the lush beauty of the hills around Gembrook. BOM tells us that the sun also promises to shine. We hope to see you out. We've kept this ride simple and short - getting away from the city to gentle hills between Launching Place and Gembrook. We'll stop at a hidden place: Ship Rock waterfall along the way.
Ride Departure Point and Time
Arrive at 9.30 AM with a full tank of fuel for departure at 10.00 AM sharp from our usual meeting spot in the east, Britannia Mall, 485 Whitehorse Road, Mitcham. Pull into the north side service road at the start of Mitcham shopping centre. Please arrive earlier if you need a coffee or food beforehand. Several cafes in the mall will cater for our needs. We'll ride out of the city via Mt Evelyn and Seville.
A lunch venue has been booked in Gembrook at 12 noon at The Station House. Outdoor table in the sun! Please order and pay for your meal as soon as we arrive to speed things up. Menu. The Club will pay for member coffee or drink (ride support) - so put your drink order on that tab.
Puffing Billy arrives at the nearby Station at 1.00 - 1.15 PM - so there's an opportunity for a cl;ose up look and photo.
Depart Gembrook at 1.30 PM, straight back through Cockatoo and Emerald, and we'll have you back at Mitcham home base on or before 3.00 PM
Total 115 km loop - you should be able to easily do this within a tank of fuel.
We won't be going over Mt Dandenong on this ride - saving that experience for another one.
