Can anybody advise the wiring for GGB+c regulator on a PX. Various diagrams available online show conflicts for the G terminals. One is unregulated AC input, and the other is regulated 12V AC out. B+…Continue

Have a p200e and am doing gearbox job. Couple of questions, when the gears are fitted to shaft, should the slots for cruciform all be aligned, or is there no difference? Next question, are the gears…Continue

Anybody have any info on drilling 2 holes in the underside of air filter. Seems to be recommended by some to improve engine breathing. Supposedly the air filter fitted to US an AUS models were not…Continue

"The G connection is what regulates the voltage. Both G connections are connected internally in the regulator. It is not an input or an output, but more like an overflow outlet. For this reason, it is important that the regulator is earthed properly…"

"Thanks Bob. I suspect you might be right, and was my thoughts also. The B+ is also supplied fromthe ac input via internal connection with rectifier. Don't want to have a guess that's wrong and blow up the new reg. Cheers."

"Paul, I'm hesitant to give advice when I haven't actually had experience on that regulator but it could be that both of the terminals you are querying may be joined internally anyway. You could check this with an ohmmeter (multimeter on…"

PX voltage regulator wiring

Can anybody advise the wiring for GGB+c regulator on a PX. Various diagrams available online show conflicts for the G terminals. One is unregulated AC input, and the other is regulated 12V AC out. B+ and C terms are fine, just the G's. Most common connections appear to be the outside terminal to be unregulated input, but there are some showing the second terminal to be the input. Anybody know for sure? Thanks in advance if you can help.See More

"Hi Paul. I have a P200E and have reassembled the gearbox a number of times. As you know, the individual gears have to go back the same way they came out. If one is swapped around it will not properly line up with the layshaft gears. You don't…"

P200E Gearbox

Have a p200e and am doing gearbox job. Couple of questions, when the gears are fitted to shaft, should the slots for cruciform all be aligned, or is there no difference? Next question, are the gears and shaft interchangeable with after 83 PX (except cruciform, later one is flat) I can get complete overhaul kit for PX and 4th gear has a thicker mid section. Current gear is PX type, and all works ok. Kit has new axle, gears, pin, cross, clips etc. Pin on PX (I think) needs larger spanner to…See More

P200E selector box

Somebody have a definite answer re 1980 p200e VSX1T gear selector box. The one fitted now is part 138880 FA branded. This number coincides with SIP part number. Seems to be slightly different types of these with respect to the height of the pawl above gasket surface ... some sites state should be 1.5mm above gasket in 3rd gear. The one I have the pawl is about .5mm below the gasket surface. I have 3 boxes and all are the same. Have to replace as there is wear in shaft, and now not sure if the…See More
